Hey all. I am having problems with my microsofts force feed back 2 joystick. It runs really good untill I want to change the button functions and add some macros. When I hit the recorder button inside the software. I get this error. An exception occurred while trying to run "Shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL
> joy.cpl". Anybody ran into this problem before. a real pain in the arse and is there way to fix it. thanks, oh and My os is winxp sp2.

I using a MS Sidewinder non FFB stick and I do my button assignments in FS vice the software that came with the stick.

Those old MS sticks are hard to beat. I've used this one for about 7 years now and hate the thought of eventually having to replace it.

Try It In Safe Mode!

Phantom,

I have the same problem with the Sidewinder software since I installed a new Mother Board & Windows XP a while back.

I haven't searched for a fix in a while, but the easiest way to workround this problem is to restart in Safe Mode, launch the SW software (where it works as it should), and do any button or macro assignments there and save.

Restart in normal mode, launch the SW software and do a key/button check (that part usually works ok for me) and now it should be ready for FS.

Those old MS sticks are hard to beat. I've used this one for about 7 years now and hate the thought of eventually having to replace it.

Indeed they are Willy!

Cheers

Paul
