Methodical Bug Hunting

Threedp

SOH-CM-2025
I'm not sure any of what follows is directly related to the new shaders, but as a result of them, I've adopted a methodical approach to working out visual bugs if I can, hopefully with some help from this excellent community.

To start, I loaded the new shaders to BoB and altered my configoverrides only to match the required settings (I was able to recover my original ones, they were not lost as I reported in another thread). But I digress. In BoB, I found no significant issues.

I've moved on to PTO and so far, a couple have surfaced. In some instances, the land/island is disappearing as I swoop over it (note the buildings in the water!), only to return once I've passed:

Update: The issue above is a cockpit view issue. Viewed from the outside, all is well. If I swoop in at a shallow angle, I can see the terrain appearing as I go.

In another, weird visuals, like so (cloud shadows perhaps?):

Any input welcome.

While I haven't seen the same thing in MAW, I have noticed that if one starts aboard a carrier, the deck disappears from many angles, so the problem seems to be with flat 'terrains' (carriers 'sunk to water level' and small atolls). Any idea what to mess with to try and fix that?

the problem with the carrier deck is that objects in cfs3 must be in front of your view to be seen. If its mostly behind you then the part you can see may disappear. I have played around with creating carriers in sections which helps a bit but is not perfect.
