Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

I would really love a Belverder

Im posting to see what reaction i get, im in the process of updating some of my scenery for FSX, although i still fly FS9 and there will be a few goodies for you guys in a few weeks, but everytime i research RAF base's in the 60's in the middle east and far east, i always see great photos of Bristol Belveders on the flight line, weather its Khormaksar or Singapore , and it would be really great to have one in FS9 or FSX, ive even consider'd making a static scenery object, a flyer is well beyond my abilities, will we ever see one in out flightsim world, anyone got a sniff of one in the works.
what do you guys think, cheers ian

The Bristol Type 192 Belvedere, remembered affectionately by nobody (as far as I can tell) but which filled a vital niche for the RAF throughout the 1960s. You're right Ian, its absence in your sceneries sticks out like a sore thumb; I did think of painting Mich Posch's H-21 to represent it once, but my heart wasn't in it.

Always had a soft spot for the Belvedere since I built the Airfix model a few years back; well, rebuilt really, because that model was pretty bad and needed a lot of work, did a couple of RAF versions and a "What if .." Royal Navy helo. Would be lovely to see it in MSFS.

indeed was vital amongst others including Westland Whirlwinds and Wessexes to British operations during the 60s Borneo confrontation
and was essentially the precursor to employment of the Boeing Vertol CH-46 Sea Knight 'Phrog' by the Americans in the Vietnam conflict; albeit from what I gather, the Belvedere was as they say a one-hit wonder, while the Sea Knight had a storied career post-Vietnam

--> a fantastic short courtesy of Bristol

well anyhow, if you need a fix to fly a tandem-rotor, then Virtavia has a freeware CH-46 Sea Knight for FS2004 and FSX https://www.virtavia.com/Freeware/index.php - why not give that a whirl; but regardless, I wholly concur that 'tis a pity that there is no Belvedere for MSFS

I have a few hours in the Virtavia Sea Knight but like a lot of the older Alphasim/Virtavia aircraft the gauges in the VC could do with a LOT of re-working as they are very lo-res and hard to read at a reasonable distance from the panel.

I keep toying with the idea of trying to 'do' a Belvedere, only two things stopping me:

1) A dearth of decent references, especially three views
2) I've never made anything (yet)!

Shame really, as Belvedere's flying off the deck of HMS Centaur would be the perfect addition to Team Elliot's Levant packages.
