From a member of the Nikon forum that I belong to....This is the best & seeing these makes me want to purchase a 35mm film camera & a few rolls of what's left of Kodachrome film before it disappears...

There's definitely something about the color with film... digital doesn't even come close.

All of this photography talk really makes me want to go out to the local nature preserve, but I've got work soon... GAH!:173go1:

Highly enjoyable pictures!!!!!

The subject on these shots are very interesting! I shot from pepper shaker to my daughter's eyelashes.... to the plane's wings to my dirty sole of my foot!

Yep ........... You HAVE to shoot it at ASA 25 ! ... If you want to know what that is .... try your digital set at that ASA. A tripod is essential!.... There can be NO camera movement whatsoever.
The "pictures will be slides! These are what is required, there is no middle road. The results are fantastic.... but the road to them is very rigid. It must be a bright sunny day...... the beach is great.
Full Moon shots? ........... forget it..........

panthers pics are of Bodie California..an awesome place..its left just as it was..people just walked away.very cool place to visit

Awesome pics guys! The detail and color and crispness is just amazing.

That also looks like my kitchen.. and garage.. except different color of paint. :d

Actually I'm intrigued that we can all look at these and remark on how good they look...
Presumably scans of the negatives?
So we end up looking at a digitally processed picture (actually #2 is showing signs of a little over sharpening)
So the issue would be only with the digital camera capture portion, all the post-production digital stuff is OK...
You'd think after all this time there would be good enough sensors in a camera to match Kodak's finest analogue.
Mind you, I'm a vinyl freak...

Yeah, it's hard to say when the prints are scanned, then reproduced digitally on someone else monitor.

I often think the Kodachrome has a nice "look" to it, but often times it doesn't look very "real" to me either.

And yeah, the argument kind of does remind me of the vinyl vs. digital debate.
