Manchester Derby.....

I'm still laughing, and the match finshed hours ago!! Good result for us neutrals, funny how there were a lot fewer comments on Facebook after the match than is usual!! :icon_lol:

The only significant change is the (huge) amount of money which City can spend........

Cheers,
Huub

Granted. BUT, you can spend vast amounts of money & still not end up with a 'team', just a bunch of overpaid prima donnas; as was largely proved at Chelsea with the Tinkerman - took the Special One to mould it into a winning team. Mancini has done a great job of forging team spirit (apart from one obvious exception) and a belief thay they can win; the real significance of yesterdays result is not the fact of the win, or the overwhelmimg scale of the win, it was the location of that win - nobody goes to Old Trafford and does that! Well, somebody did yesterday, and now other teams know it can be done they'll want a piece of the action. :applause:

Why is it called a Derby when it was in Manchester? Derby being another English city. :kilroy:

I don't know the etymology of "Derby" but it signifies a sporting event (usually football) between two clubs in the same city/town. Darby is the English city.
As Huub says there was a great deal of money thrown at MCFC but until very recently they weren't playing as a team. Yesterday they did...and without Tevez!

It is one of those mysteries; if this was QI Alan Davies would be holding up the "Just Don't Know" card.

Yes, that young mans star has certainly fallen. He has made no secret of the fact that he wants to move, but he may not find it so easy now after his recent tantrums.
