Annoying problem with Stick

I have a Saitek X45

I like the stick a lot and have had it for years, but I often, while flying, have a delayed reaction in FS (for example, when using the hat to look around, it takes 2 seconds for it to respond).

It goes away if I unplug it and plug it back in but is there a fix for the problem?

Sounds like Its getting reddy to take a dump on you, mine did the same thing and soon after went belly up. Saitek X45 are good but don't last that long.

My MS Sidewinder is getting pretty loose in the center position. I'm sure dreading trying to replace it.

Does it happen with all, or only select aircraft? Do you have to hold the hat switch for the 2 seconds or does it just take time to react after release?

Thoughts:

-check the USB plug and the USB port on your computer to make sure they are clean and clear of dust/crud
- while flying, press SHIFT+Z so you can see your framerates. Some of the lag in changing views may not be the stick but a delay shifting the views due to a slowdown in the video (esp. if it's only certain a/c or areas of flight)
-if you feel like a bit of finicky maintenance you can try opening it up and cleaning the various contacts with some contact cleaner. It may be getting to the point where the input is not getting made immediately. Not for the faint of heart but it can be done.
-if none of this works, start saving $$ for an X-52 or yoke :banghead:

I still use my Sidewinder that I've had since FS98 days.
It's loose too but still works fine. Just have to make sure I'm not acidentally putting in some rudder when I don't want it.

I was afraid of that...I guess I'd better get reddy to get a new one...

Thanks for the responses!
