• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Greg Law has maintained the Reg's Hanger site for years now, but that will end very soon: this is the end of an era in CFS3 add-ons. If there is anything there you want, you don't have long to get it.

This raises the question of uploading these resources to SOH or elsewhere. Greg is happy for any of his own work to be hosted here or elsewhere for the benefit of the community, but there is also a lot of work by many others and I hope they will let us preserve it. Groundcrew, Nachtpiloten, Bravo/4 etc, even some CFS2 material, but please ask permission of the authors before uploading, even to SOH.

Oh and please don't leave it to Grizzly50 to save everything again - he's already gone way beyond the call of duty. :isadizzy: The clock is ticking!

It is a shame, but Greg has been quite generous to keep it running as long as he has. I'll be grabbing stuff for safekeeping soon. Thanks for the heads up. BTW, how soon is soon?
 
That's too bad, it was a great resource for me in my return to CFS3. I hope we can find somewhere else to host the fils

Mathias is a member here as well, has anyone contacted him? I have a lot of campaign work that involves this stuff, we need to come to a consensus here.
 
I'm in the process of downloading all the CFS3 stuff from both Reg's Hanger and Groundcrew.

When it closes and until we find a new home for these works, if anyone needs or wants anything, just send me a private message with your e-mail and I'll do the rest.

Would Greg be willing to transfer the domain and the site to be hosted on another server? Or if he has a hosting service would he be willing to transfer the ownership? I am willing to work out the hosting and domain issues.

I am willing to help preserve the files there if needed.
Any of my missions there are can be uploaded to SOH with No problems..
Whatever it takes to help preserve this I am wiling to do. (As I am able)

This is a great shame and huge loss to the community. My many thanks to all those involved over the years, still have CFS3, MAW, OFF & Korea installed after all these years. And CFS2 for the GC stuff. Speaking of which, does anyone know how to contact Greg regarding these old CFS2 models?

yes I would like to contact him too. I've done a fair bit of tweaking to his ship xdp files over the years, and would like his blessing to upload some alternative xdps and m3ds referencing different skins.

Greg's been one of the Masters, to use a Hobbitism, since way, way back when I first came to CFS. The Groundcrew Group wasn't even started back then... And between GC and then Reg's, they were always a pixel ahead. It was a huge honour for me to be invited to submit skins to Reg's.

I think we all owe a huge vote of thanks to Greg for everything he's done for the CFS world over that time, in any case.

PS It goes without saying that any of my contributions may be uploaded to SOH or Beau Brummie's without further ado.
