The DTM, or German touring car championship, is a German racing series that uses silhouette cars build around a standard monocoque tub and a Hewland gear box, with a 4 liter V8 engine producing about 460 hp. Other common parts are front and rear wings and suspension parts to reduce costs. The manufacturers that have entered the series are Mercedes, Audi and since 2012 BMW is back with success as they won the 2012 title with driver Bruno Spengler. Other drivers that compete are Le Mans winner Mike Rockenfeller, Matthias Ekstrom, former F1 driver Timo Glock, WTCC champ Andy Priaulx and McLaren testdriver Gary Paffett. There are ten races each season, at tracks like Hockenheim, Adria, Brands Hatch, Nurburgring and Zandvoort.

And now there's a game/Sim coming up, and you can download a demo here: http://www.dtm-experience.com/

Made by Simbin, of GTR2, GTR Evolution and Raceroom fame, this game is based on the Raceroom technology and features (In the demo) three cars and one track (Hockenheim).

Had a go in all three cars at the highest difficulty settings, and I do like it! Good feel, and certainly not too easy!

And if you get the demo, watch the intro movie, it really well done and should get you in the right mood.

Excellent,I've got Simbin's GTR and love it. I wonder if this has steering wheel support? I have a wheel and pedals but with GTR I had to use an X-Box wired controller with a usb connector.

I'm using a Logitech G25 and it works fine for me. You can't set the steering wheel lock in the car set up though, but you'll need to set the angle in the controller set up. I have mine locked at 585 degrees (Max. 900 degrees).

Thanks for the info Ferry, I think I will give it a try, the DTM cars are some of my favorites.

They look and sound great, and maybe except for the Japanese SGT cars they are the fastest touring cars around. Even a GT1 car would have a hard time against a DTM car as it has way more downforce.

Not the easiest cars to drive though, and the demo sure lets you feel why.
