What a great day is was yesterday! Despite the weather (Very windy, a few small showers and one HUGE one at the start of the day..) is was a fantastic show, with eleven hours of non-stop racing action in thirteen categories and a block full of demonstrations. Here's a 'small' selection of over 1,700 photos...

The Gentlemen drivers class, with no less than six AC Cobra's at the start and this Bizzarrini 5300GT:

Porsche 904/6 with former Porsche works driver jurgen Barth at the wheel, and a Lotus 11:

Two Cobra's:

This Cobra had WTCC driver Tom Coronel as one of the drivers, the other car of this team had F1 Sauber Test driver Giedo van der Garde.

Lots of homebuilt specials in the 500cc Formula 3 race; looks kinda dangerous but that didn't stop the drivers!:

And the final race of the day, for Formula Junior cars, like this 1960 Stanguellini:

And this Lotus 22 from 1962:

Thanks guys!

Mike, the Lola T70 is a beautiful car with a great sound, and seeing no less than seven together was just great!

Hey All,

Nice photos beautiful cars especially the Porsche 904/6 and the 70T and several in pic 11. And good of you correctly capture the 78 beating the 23! :mixed-smiley-010:

Great stuff here Ferry!
I started following racing around 1977 so a few of those cars bring back some pleasant memories (outside of seen some of the "Speed Racer" cars  there too)

Nice use of your 7D also!

And good of you correctly capture the 78 beating the 23! :mixed-smiley-010:

American muscle cars are usually faster on the straights, the euro cars beat them in the corners so they are very well matched. Will have to wait for the final results to see who won!

Fun story: During the 1966 Dutch GP some people commented that Jack Brabham was already too old to be an F1 driver (He was forty at that time) so when he walked to his car on the grid he used a cane and wore a long fake beard (He won that race from pole position btw):

Here's his son today:
