ya know this is a nice little accomplishment but big headlines of '100 wins' and comparing it to Richard Petty with 200 wins is BS.

Richard Petty has 200 wins all in the cup series.

Busch has 22 in cup, 49 in nationwide and 29 in truck.....okay....woopteedo.

geezzz

this would be like taking a baseball players homers in A and AA and adding them to a few in the major leagues and trying to claim they are on the same level as Babe Ruth or Hank Aaron.:banghead:

(btw Hammerin Hank still holds the major league record for non-steroid induced homers):icon_lol:

I like what the announcers said....
Take it for what is & don't compare since the racing is different now....Each "King" has their own place in history cemented....:mixedsmi:

Petty got 30 of his wins in 1967, when he raced with practically no competition. Many of his early wins came at very small race tracks, again competing against little competition.

You really cannot compare. Back in the late 60s and early 70s, there might be five cars out of forty-three that could expect to win a race. Talladega was the first track to cause enough attrition to take out all the favorites (1977, both races) and give the win to non favorites Benny Parsons and A. J. Foyt. In those hallowed days, the Woods Bros. owned pit crews! But by the mid-eighties, everyone had trained pit crews.

Today, I would say up to one-third of the field have cars, crews, and drivers capable of winning any given race. And even there, attrition will take out the favorites and someone unknown will win. This will always happen at Talladega and Daytona as longs as the current rules are in place.

Kyle's Hell, I love to watch the bugger race, jerk and all. He is so far ahead of those Truck drivers, it is pathetic. And when he sets his mind to it, it's pretty dang tough for the Nationwide boys (or girls) to beat him. Only in the Cup series, with all it's level playing field rules and politics, does Kyle fail to dominate. And all of you will have to admit, he has had some tough breaks with wrecks he did not cause and mechanicals he had nothing to do with in the Cup series. Those Nationwide cars are so underpowered, it takes a driver to win in them, Kyle Busch is one Hell of a driver!

The poor little shrub is fast becoming a large pain in the a__. Seems anyone could win with a golden Helton halo around him.

Harvick says he's been warned to not touch Busch: Kevin Harvick says he is racing with handcuffs when competing against rival Kyle Busch, whom he and his owner have feuded with since May. Harvick, who finished second behind Busch in the New England 200 on Saturday, told his Nationwide Series team over his radio that he had to be careful around Busch and then confirmed afterward that NASCAR President Mike Helton had warned him at Michigan in June not to touch Busch on the track. "I was told a few weeks ago that if we touched the 18 car [of Busch], we'd be parked," Harvick said. "I've just got to be really careful. I would have liked to have gotten the track position and slid up and do what I needed to do. But I've just got to be really careful. That's the way NASCAR put it to me." NASCAR spokesman Kristi King said if there was a conversation between Harvick and Helton, it would remain private. Busch said he has received no warning. "It would have been a lot easier to win if you didn't have handcuffs put on you, but that's the way NASCAR said we had to do it," Harvick said.(http://www.scenedaily.com/news/arti...AR_has_told_him_he_cant_touch_Kyle_Busch.html

Terry,As EasyEd would say,....looks like Harvick is too distracted and his eyes are now "off the prize".....

and if you listened to harvick,,,"i couldve driven through him and gotten in front".....he cant race his way to the front he has to race through him...busch is just better and he knows it so he has it in his devious lil mind he will and has to wreck busch every chance he gets or hes gonna get beat...so he will get beat....harvick need to just race...but hes an ******* and cant do that...he wrecked bayne yesterday in the nationwide race just to get to busch,,,ran up in to the corner and just used bayne as a wall to turn his car...thats not racing thats justbeing an ass.....

Yes,
Harvick was so caught up in NASCAR's treatment of that he "took his eye off the prize" (as EasyEd would say) and ended up losing the race to Kyle.

I'd say Kyle has matured and moved on and is focused on winning races while Harvick is still plotting revenge & is also still emotional at NASCAR...

I don't like either one of them, their both jack as_es. And Kyles so called maturity is a facade built by Gibbs, and the sponsers. The first time something does not go his way the facade is dumped. Harvick has no facade, what you see is what you get. At least he is more honest about it.

Fair enough then....and what I see in Harvick is a kid who hasn't matured or learned a lesson from previous experiences. This is what we've got.

Even the great EasyEd stated that Kyle was "learned" by Childress & co - Guess Harvick hasn't been and still needs to be "learned" ;)

thats all true but i guess my point was the whole 'Busch with 100 wins' thing is media over-hype.

The media used to hate Kyle...so what happened :ques:

hmmm guess they got 'learned'. lol

but in the past Kyle would storm off the track if he didn't win....now he talks to the media after the race and usually tries to be civil.......

so if you are nice to the media..they are nice to you....sort of...maybe...sometimes:icon_lol:

Kyle already learned via Childress..;)
Guess that leaves hot-head Harvick left who still has to go to class.....

Ava is learning Kurt how she is going to take half his money, no doubt Sam will pick up on it. Why else would anyone marry one of those brothers.

Harvick will simply do what his wife tells him to. Logano was right you know!

The women are running the show and doing quite well for themselves. It was Jeff Gordons ex that started this ball rolling. Even Brian France is getting rolled! Don't know where it will end but it sure is fun to watch.

Hey All,

Guess I should comment here.

Well first of all it was great to see Derrike Cope and one of his nieces (Angela - a total fox as is her twin sister Amber - a little Paris Hilton looking but that's OK I like Paris too since she and I were born on the same day) racing in the same race - Angela beat her uncle who had an engine go down. So hats off to the Cope's.

thetwins-1.jpg

Hmm which one is Angela?

But speaking of the Cope's, does anybody here know what Derrike has done that Kyle Busch never has?

So lets see Kyle's 22 Cup wins versus what Derrike did... Hmmm I'll take what Derrike did. Kyle Petty on 30 mins you'll never get back called the number 100 exactly what it is "bullcrap" - exactly right. Playing up the 100 is NASCAR promotion - nothing more.

But getting to Harvick - he is what he is - and comes by it honestly. That NASCAR is apparently seeing fit to "muzzle" him when on the other hand they say "boys have at her" - a bit 2-faced don't you think but what can you say. NASCAR is seeing Kyle as a draw to the sport and protecting that - but that said - after the 2001 Daytona 500 you didn't mess with Kevin Harvick as he was the heir apparent to the black number 3. NASCAR then was promoting their sport anyway they could just as they are today. Is it fair - no - is it right - no - is it the way it is - yes.

When it comes to Kevin or Kyle well I'll take Kevin first as well because I believe Kevin is far more genuine and honest than Kyle - I prefer that. That said Kyle is racing clean and that is good.

BTW Kevin also did what Derrike did and that Kyle has never done.

i'm guessing you are referring to Cope's Daytona 500 win?

i was watching that race....that was back when i hated the 3:icon_lol:

loved it when he blew that tire and Cope won:running:
