100 years of Uruguayan Air Force

Happy 100th Birthday to our FAU friends! They still are our friends down there... aren't they? :icon_lol:

Add mine too...

!Feliz cumpleanos a la Fuerza Aerea Uruguaya!

Mis alas de paracaidistas de uruguayos.

Although I left Uruguay more than 54 years ago... I still have a very warm rinconcito in my heart (little corner
that never forgets the land of my parents and where I took my first breath... While still an officer in the US ARMY
I worked with several Uruguayan battallions in the Sinai Desert back in the erly 80s....and have nothing but pride in them.... all very
dedicated soldiers! Viva Uruguay viejo y peludo!!!

My son did a Sinai tour in 2001 while he was in the 10th Mountain, he was based at Sharm-el-Sheikh.

Although never belonged to the Air Force, thank you for your kind words.
I knew you'd be first to replicate Jagd! you are a good friend of our army.
Our military has been in more than 30 missions in the world at the same time, in fact we had more soldiers outside the country than inside. Our country is peaceful but we have as many soldiers per person of all America, it shows our dedication to world peace at the United Nations. So we're not down Tarpsbird, we are everywhere and yes we are still friends of USA, and what matters is that the U.S. is still our friends. In one of peacekeeping missions undertaken by my father in India & Pakistan, a general of these countries asked my father how many soldiers we had, and my father answered 35,000, General began to laugh, my father cut his laughing saying that if we were at war with them, the problem would not beat them but we would do after winning with them.
Gaucho my country will continue to open doors! so come back if u can! haremos un gran asado!

misson,
I liked your last post. If I ever have a chance I will come down and visit. Always good to be among friends. :salute:
