Hi all. Might you please do a recount of the number of times that Team SOH used the F8F (Bearcat)? In particular, you might look at the legs into 3L2, CYGL, SBKP, SAZS, and SLLP. (Note that the official pilot of record into SBKP was the original wingman in his F8F, having received the baton in a wingman transfer.) Thanks.

Wingman down safe at MGGT. The visibility was pretty bad. This pic was right over the runway, which I missed completely.

Wingman transfer, crash on landing

Kudos to Paul for making it down, and to Derry for the valiant effort :applause:

From hours old personal experience I know it wasn't easy! https://clips.twitch.tv/darkcharizma/PreciousWolverineBORT (unfortunately twitch wouldn't create a clip to the landing, but it looked like that until 100m before and 50 ft above the runway :biggrin-new:)

Thanks DC!

Derry, don't feel bad about that crash. That I survived that "landing" was 100% luck! When the GPS said I was "0 miles" from the airport, I saw NOTHING out the window! And the RADALT said I was 200 feet over the ground. And the ILS needle was stuck on the right side, laughing at me. So I chopped the power and "landed". I figured the airport had to be sort of around here somewhere. I was worried about landing on top of the control tower though. I ended up in the grass somewhere... :)

Yeah, I saw a brief glimpse of the runway, just before bouncing off of it. Next thing I know I'm looking at the outside of my aircraft.
