22" LCD Monitors

Whats your Price range? All Samsung 22" are good value..Acer is nice too.......LC is great too.......
 
I pondered that same question a few months ago and went with the LG L227WTG can't recommend it enough, I got mine for just under $300.

I remember this discussion a few months ago and I was researching it prior to that. The two I was looking at are above. The LG is better but the Samsung is still a quality product.

The real down fall with the Samsung is that they change manufacturing locations and the new location changed some parts or material that cause the monitors to not work as good as the one manufactured at the previous location. The problem was fixed with a driver update but they still got a bad taste in their mouth from it. That is reflected in their Customer Reviews only 72% of the reviews have been 5 eggs while the LG is carring a 94%. Granted their only a third of the reviews on the LG but that should not matter.

I my self and curious where the prices will go after Christmas. That maybe the time to buy.
 
Hi all,
I am running a 22ins wide screen Dell monitor.Think it is a rebadged Samsung as other bits and pieces in my machine seem also to be from Samsung.It is great.

Yep, those new Apple monitors are brilliant.

HP has come down in their prices for monitors. I found one last year, 20 inch for $200.00. Great little screen. But now I have my eyes set on a Apple Cinema monitor. Big things! I think they are almost meant as TV's.

Do Apple monitors still have the glossy screens though? One of the biggest deciding factors for me is screen glare. As such, I've steered clear of Plasma's for HDTV's, and am very happy with LCD's for my computers. To each his own, but new generation LCD's with low glare screens are fantastic (IMO)!

Im a glassy guy. All these are glassy monitors. I can see your point though. My monitor doesnt face the window. Its back is to it. If it were the other way around it would be difficult to work with.

yup, i use two 30" cinemas for my work PC, and other 30"+23" for FS9. What i love about the apples is their crisp display. It's so sharp that it looks like staring at a sheet of paper...great for my line of work.

I bought the first generation 23" when they came out (the clear plastic framing)...and never went back to other brands. They are worth the price imo.

here's a pic of my current FS9 setup running on these screens (the 23" is one of the first generation ones).

and to answer the glassy question. Nope...none at all! They have a very matte feeling to them...zero glare at all even in sunlight! You can put your face about 1" from the screen...and i swear it looks like a piece of white paper. This is why all the artists/graphics people use Apple screens...

I've been using a SAMSUNG 21" LCD for a couple three years now and it's been giving me good results all around the gaming spectrum.

My local 'PC D.I.Y' store, one of the newer retailers who sell at very competitive prices.

Wulfie, that's in Australian $$ as well, about US00.65 at the moment!
Good example of just how competitive these people are, Logitech G25 racing wheel & pedal combo (probably the best around) is usually around A$400.00 in round numbers, these people, A$260.00!!
I bought one as a 'spare' ............. :ernae:
