A day at the races:Sandown Park V8 Round Part 4

Take this as a thank you on Parts 1, 2, and 3 also Wombat. Sometimes watching racing in the race is so nice. Great shots mate, love 'em. Wish we had more of that kind of stock car racing in the antipodes.

yeah i agree with cas,,,thanks for the posting, wish we could see more coverage here in the US of the V8 series..i sure enjoy them,,,,i like nascar,,,but man i get bored, and im an ex driver ( i know ive about worn that out,but i understand the stragy of the long race and pit stops ect, plus the short track racing) but the V8 cars on those road courses are just fun

You're welcome Caz and Dave.

The V8 web site provided the shots, I decided against attempting to shoot anything given the conditions.

I kid you not, Friday was bloody hot with a wicked Northerly, Saturday was as cold as a witch's tit and the rain was either heavy or heavier, while Sunday was just right.
Visibility was a killer in the wet, as the cars generate a lot of heat inside which turns steamy and condenses on the screen, if the demister strips are a bit feeble it gets REALLY exciting over the top of the back straight where they arrive with the rev limiter bouncing away and the car is hitting around 276K.
At the end of the round it's 180 points difference between the Vodafone pair, 300 points are up for grabs at the final round in Sydney, another street circuit.
Could be a dramatic finale as the weather is unstable up there at this time of the year.
