• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

The system:

Case: Nexus Caterpillar Silent
Power unit: Nexus NX-6000 630 W 82 Plus
Motherboard: P7P55D-E Asus S1156 P55 DDR3 USB3 SATA6 ATX
CPU: Intel Core I7-860 2.8 GHz 8MB SATA6
Cooler: Nexus Xir-2300
DRAM: 2x2GB Kingston 1600 MHz
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB SATA2 32MB
GPU: XFX ATI/AMD HD5850 PCI-E 725M 1GB
OS: Windows 7 Pro 64 bit (Fin)
BDD: SMG Combo 8x SATA LS

Bought that last summer. First the BD drive didn't work (was changed on guarantee). The replacement didn't either (the motherboard was changed). When I installed FSX and tried to fly the 3D display didn't work (there ware no problems with 2D display before). The GPU-card was changed.

...some months working ok. ...

Then while the system was installing some Windows upgrade through internet the system suddenly booted in the middle of the process (this wasn't the usual W-system boot up after upgrading the OS). I tried it again. Same result. The system denied to install this upgrade.

Then gradually this computer started to boot by itself accidentally more often. To me it seemed like some activity like intense HDD use, booting the external HDD, etc. was a triggering thing for this booting until I found out that the computer did it also while completely idle. There is no broken voltages in house because my other computer works ok all the time.

Now it is back to guarantee service again (been there 1.5 weeks already).

What the heck could cause these bootings? Everything obvious (like viruses, temperatures and fans) has been checked before sending it to the service.
