Aeroplane Heaven Lancaster available!

Ah, cool! That was going to be my next paint. Don't forget the medals etc in front of the mission markings.
Never mind, and if you figure out how to get rid of the radar, let me know?
So far I have no images showing the medals etc in front of the mission markings. Maybe someone can provide me with a proper image of the medals. It is not easy to find good reference material.

A paintkit would help improving textures (think weathering is a bit overdone among others). Spinners are currenly too glossy. Tire glossynes have been subdued. I'll give a word if I figure out how to remove the radar. :giggle:

I mixed the BBMF and other textures to tone down the weathering, I felt it was too much as well. Feel free to use or adapt my textures!

This is strange. I've looked at your repaints from fs.2 @jankees and they use the same model as the "G for George" paint in the pack the thumbnail of which does not show the radar.. But both your model and G for George use the same model...

Baz, any chance we could get a model without the upper-turret but with the non-Dambuster's normal bomb-bay?
Thanks :)
'fraid not mate. The only Mk1's without the upper mid I know of were the Specials built to carry the Tallboys. They also lacked a front turret. We're not doing that one. The MkVIIs used by the French Navy had a lot of differences beside the lack of a mid-upper including exhaust extensions and an extra hatch where the turret used to be. We are totally focused on the B Mk.1 and the Mk3 special for Upkeep bomb.

Work in progress for "Johnny Walker" (WS J). Still a lot to do to the textures. Also trying to figure out how to remove the H2S radar from the model.

You don't need to remove it. Just use one of the other models. The standard B Mk1 has no H2S radar. The model used for G-George and "Leader " (if you don't want exhaust shrouds) fro example.

Thanks bazzar.
I have pointed to different models (last model.H2Snoexh) in the aircraft.cfg. But the livery still loads with the radar visible. Here's the model entry in the aircraft.cfg: model = "" ;\..\..\ah-lancaster\H2Snoexh\ Will do more attempts today.

Is it possible to get a layered paintkit with UV's for the Lancaster? (Painting the model by the old method, using Photoshop) ;)

Not sure from what you show that you are setting up the aircraft.cfg properly. It should look something like this:

Title="ah_llancaster NAME OF TEXTURE"
Model=""
Panel=""
Sound=""
Texture="Texture-folder-name"

That is all you need to do to get your texture to show on the standard model. Same as the old FSX/P3D. You don't need the address of the model folder or anything else.

Not possible for layered paintkit no. It is not how the textures are made for MSFS.

The colour is now much better but of all the pictures available the engine do not have the exhaust shrouds.
It's not like *ALL* models in AH's Lancaster package have the exhaust shrouds, is it ??..... It should be possible to fly both the virtual BBMF and CWH museum's Lanc's as well, shouldn't it ? According to photo's they don't have their exhaust stacks shrouded..

Also, what is the best airfield scenery available (preferable 2024 as well) as the home base for the Lanc ?

In ending, it seems that Orbx doesn't allow payment other than credit card, that really true ?.. (Just Flight button seems greyed-out ....)

Thanks !

no, but when I try to apply another model, my paint does not show up, and I always have the H2S radar, even with the 'normal' model. I need a break, good thing I'm going on holiday this Wednesday...

Thanks Jan ! It's not like the exhaust stacks covers are an option that can be set to on or off ?...

The H2S Radar might've been nice to have as an option too... I have yet to purchase the model so i can't be of any help to you atm.

In any case, have a nice holiday ! :encouragement:

Theoretically the visual model you get depends on which model you specify in aircraft.cfg, choices are
""
"H2S"
"H2Snoexh"
"UpKeep"

But I seem to get the H2S fuselage in my repaint even with the "" specified.
Hmmm
And now my fuselage has gone pink...I can copy the fuselage files over another livery (using the same model) and they work fine, but in my livery, no. :(
