So like every other red-blooded American, I like building a model here and there... I know we have a few Outhousers that are pretty big fanatics themselves... (Cazzie's the big one I think right?)
Well, I've been slowly experimenting with non-model-specific paints... Rather than paying $4 for a tiny jar of Model Master at the hobby store, I decided to try out non-conventional paints... Craft paints for example... nice size jar for $.67!!! and acrylic.....
They obviously have ups and downs.... nice to mix whatever color you need and a wider spektrum of color... unfortunately you do not have those specific military colors, like OD... they do have an Olive Green, but it's just not right...
I also started using spray paint that you'd pick up at a hardware store... it is really good for the basics... black, white, & gray...tried experimenting with silver, but haven't found one to give good results yet...
Thought I'd share some pics.... These were all built by yours truly, a true amateur of the hobby, with the only model specific paints being MM Insignia Yellow, and Testors Silver......
