• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Thanks for everything you did, Ickie. You helped create a great watering hole here, and made a lot of people very happy and helped them enjoy their hobby. You will be very missed here.

I am truly saddened and also humbled to have known such a unique and selfless character.

Fuuuu.... truly sorry to hear this. Ron gave me a home here after the big Avsim blow-up back in 2002. Going to be sorely missed. Prayers for him and his family. :(
 
Just got out the hospital last evening and found this out. So very sad at the loss of one kind soul. RIP and will be missed greatly. Regards,Scott
 
His story really gets to me. I suffer with mental illness and the stigma associated with it. Have spent a long time in the hospital several times. Just as recently as the first part of January i was in the hospital. Doing better now. New medication and IOP-(Intensive Outpatient Program) really help. Go to "class" four days a week for half a day and they pick me up and bring me back home as i can't drive because of the medicine i take. Will greatly miss Ickie. RIP ,Scott
 
First time I have been on the site in nearly 5 years, and this is terrible news to read. Rest In Peace, Ron. You are missed already, and will be so for a long time to come.
