Hallo friends,
today I began to work on the Heinkel He 51 2Dpanel
All went fine, better than expected until I tried to make the gauge for the flaps lever
A simple gauge with a background and three levver positions.
But in my panel soft FSPS (FS PanelStudio) this gauge will not show and I get error message that fsps do not find the bmps.
But in my flightsim the gauge is on the panel and works as it should.
So where is the bug? What did I wrong or in my FSPS is there something I did wrong?
Perhaps someone will have a look on this damned thing?
Best regards
Yours
Michael

Good morning friends,
Hertzie, thank you a lot for your encouraging words.
I must say I understand nothing anymore:
this morning I took this damned gauge and
1. I renamed it
2. I redid all the bmps to 16millions of color
3. renamed all the bmps with shorter names
4. of course adjusted the xml file with the new names
5. at the entry image size I added behind the numbers of the image size ,0,0 example: 150,222,0,0
and plof OH Wunder, miraculus the gauge appeared in my FSPS as it should be,
and in the sim the gauge also operates as it should - all is fine
Now the question to the experts: is there a syntax in the bmp names to respect?
What sense has the two "0" I added at the image size entry?
I wonder about this as I did a lot of other gauges and there have not been this problems.
what is enraging me is that I never know
a) do I something wrong?
b) is there an error in my softs?
c) is my old pc driving crazy?
Mike71 I do not understand what you mean, an you please explain your idea?
Best regards
Yours
Michael
PS The Heinkel He 51 2D panel is in the final phase

FSPS will show a valid gauge that is in the "Guages" folder of your main directory - that is where it first looks for it. If it is not a valid gauge, or cannot find it, FSPS it will tell you it is having a problem.

However, a gauge can be somewhere else as long as the "gaugexx="line shows a complete path to the folder where that gauge is placed. This is often in the Panel folder of the specific aircraft but can actually be anywhere.

Hi Mike,
allright, I understand.
The gauge was in the main FS2004\gauges directory as the other gauges also
I presume that FSPS want to have a specific syntax to be respected - but which and how?

Hello Michael, hello All
I already had this issue with FSPS, and I realised the problem was cause I "unzipped" a gauge in the gauges folder to have a look at all the bitmaps, and forgot to remove the folder so created, that had the same name as the gauge, and FSPS was searching for the instructions in this folder space of the gauge itself, perhaps an idea on what occurs with your problem ?
Cheers
Martin

@Mike71 Thanks for the Tip on FSPS! That's the reason why when I open some Panels in Panel Studio I get Warning messages that certain Gauges can't be found! :)
