Attention all DC-3 fans !

Beyond beautiful!!:applause: Such talent that is being shared with the community.

"Thank You" hardly seems adequate but it is the best I can come up with at the moment! A masterpiece in the making.

This is beyond payware, you are setting new standards by which all others will be measured! amazing accomplishment!!!!

I truly have never been this excited for a release of anything for FSX (payware or freeware) ever! I have HUMP scenery with flightplans installed and waiting for when this is released. Fantastic work!!

Wow. I swear I can smell the fuel, oil, and remnants of the co-pilot who obviously forgot to shower that morning. Superb craftsmanship.

Jan, forgive me for asking this question (it's probably been answered but I was unable to locate an answer in earlier thread searches), will the initial model have the engines & wing visible from the VC?

They are already visible from MJ's updated external models. This VC will integrate with v2 of that model.

Thanks for the kudos, gents ! These have to go to Ted as well for his great video and awesome soundsuite !

Yes, Griphos is right Storm, wing/engine view is already there. I just haven't had a chance to look into that (no pun intended ;-)

Aussiman is right too, Wally. I promised to release an Alpha model just about now but i still need time to tackle a few 'technical' problems. Can't send you guys up with the engines quitting on you out of the blue, can i. Also the fuel tank selectors seem to have a mind of their own. The VVC is based on Manfred/Hansi's modern VC and, for one thing, it doesn't use these old style fuel tank selectors. Ted is helping me to tackle these problems. Not easy. May take a while still.

Btw, what's not on Ted's video is the Whiskey Compass shaking about on its suspender strings during start-up and idle rpm (just begs for it, doesn't it ;-) Not 100% sure yet but i believe that the panel is hard mounted. The Sperry AP on the other hand might be rubber mounted so i might take that along in the vibration department. Other suggestions welcome.

Cheers,
Jan

Jan,take the time you need.It`s ready when it`s ready.:running:
Outstanding work indeed and looking forward to sit in this office.

It just goes to show how important the sound set is. I'm often so disappointed in many sim offerings due to the poor implementation of the audio set. This one by Ted is a true benchmark that any developer of aircraft should understand. Well done chaps.

Jan-

This process, started by Manfred, and then continuously evolving through the efforts of incredible talent, will become the de-facto standard by which all other DC-3/C-47 releases will be measured. Regardless of the "cost" to own, the product will be superlative. I believe the warmth and affection the old girl engenders, has driven each of you involved to strive for perfection- and we are witnessing the result.

BZ!

This is incredible work. I am hoping not too much longer...getting on, y'know:concern::frown-new:

I do have one, serious question: Is it possible to "crane one's neck" so as to be able to see the altimeter over the yoke? I know, or suspect, that the yoke can be made to disappear, but I'd rather be able to look around/over it.

I've never been able to do this.

Jan: Can I have the TD in the meantime to run around in?:pop4:

I know this is probably not what you're looking to hear, but TrackIR is worth every penny. I could never go back and fly the sim without it. I can look around the yoke in any aircraft and even put my head out the side window to taxi the taildraggers. Believe me, it is a far more immersive experience than using the hat switch or key commands.
