There's a lot of brilliant artwork coming together in this video, Gordon. The DC-3/C-47, the VC, Tufun's sounds, and your outstanding scenery. To me, this video is one of the best I have seen yet!

BTW, ty for the kind comments on the vid gentlemen. I wanted to show the JV cockpit at it's best. :very_drunk:
 
I've been busy tasked to work on a payware aircraft which takes priority, but did some work on the external Dak wip sounds! Some sound elements are missing at the moment in this video. Mostly focusing on the that distinct Dak sound.

 
Hear her props strain as she pulls thru the air, big radials playing her beautiful trumpet sound, finally floating along in hypnotic harmony, bringing our men home! :very_drunk:

Are you talking about those radios put into General Motors cars back in the 1950's ?

For those too young to know, the Wonderbar radio had a button on the floor that would change the station.
It was right next to the button on the floor that changed low beam to high beam.
I sure miss those days when life was much simpler.

Lol, That brings back memories of images I have seen a long time ago.

If I recall it correctly then that Wunderbar Radio module was used from 1958 till 1975.

Don't think they were ever used in a DC-3/C-47, so no worries Jan. This will not turn into a special request :biggrin-new:
 
I just recently installed the C-47 for the first time to see what everyone was raving about. The aircraft is amazing, but the new cockpit and new sounds are going transform a lovely piece of freeware into (IMHO) one of the finest virtual aircraft ever developed for MSFS either payware or freeware. This going to be a "must have" for everyone's virtual hangar. Absolutely stellar work from all involved! I am eagerly awaiting these upgrades! :jump:
 
I for one cannot wait... I have had a love affair with the DC-3 for years ever since I first saw one at an airshow as a child. It is one of the if not the iconic aircraft of all time...

Manfred did a beautiful job, but I just don't feel as comfortable in the cockpit as I will in this VVC... I have been following the thread from day one and it still amazes me how unbelievably talented all of you are here... this will go down as one of the best freeware releases in the history of flight simulation in my mind, with a community effort that is bar none.

I bow down to you all in honour of your achievements and skills, not to mention the community spirit!

I had a 1956 Oldsmobile that had one. I looked up Wonderbar radios on Google, it looks like they were made between 1955 to 1962. There is a company that makes reproduction models for people who are restoring old cars. They run around $650. I only paid $50 for that Oldsmobile. I should have taken that radio out of it before it went to the junkyard. I would love to have some of those cars back now.
