• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Microprose has risen from the ashes.

They are reinventing many of their past games.

The one I am most interested in is, as the title says, B-17 II (now called ""Redux")

New models all over! Meaning no more octagonal engine nacelles!

They have a running blog, https://www.microprose.com/news/b-17-the-mighty-8th-redux-dev-blog-1/

And the game can now be purchased and played on Steam!

Buggy as hell, however, and worse than it used to be.
But, they're working with 20 year old code, and programming written for 486 machines at best.
They're also incorporating a new core engine, most which will be for the Bloody 100th.
So I suspect it will be a rough ride for a while.

New update dropped yesterday, (Aug 22, 2024,) the O.D. skin now works.
Or the ground crews painted our birds!

I'm disappointed that they have toned down the insignia. Need anotherfix.

Just found this on my feed:

Enjoy!
One of my favorite stories from the years I've been at my job was learning that a couple of our owners were out playing a round of golf. One was our resident Tuskegee Airman, the other was a B-17er. I'm pretty sure I remember the story being that he was in the 100th. While they we talking, they figured out that they had been bomber and escort on the same mission.
