• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

CFS3 Patch Problem

I have installed Combat Flight Simulator 3.0. I have no problem ruunning the simulation. I downloaded the 3.1 patch from Microsoft. When I try to install the patch I get an error message: "Old file not found. However, a file with the same name was found. No update done as file contents do not match." Anybody got any ideas? I've tried to numerous times.

Hi wforehand

What type of support do your CFS3 copy has ? 2 CD or 1 DVD.
The reason of my question is that IIRC the DVD version is already patched to v 3.1 so that would be the cause of the error message, but I am not sure of that so I hope that someone with more knowledge than me can reply to your post.

You wouldn't by chance be running the no cd patch would you? This will also cause the error.

Please note that this patch is somewhat frowned upon here as it can allow one hack the game. Is it on the original 2cd set from Microsoft or re-burned?
