Coffin Corner

The Boeing B-47 Stratojet was notoriously called "coffin corner" because at its high operational altitudes, the gap between its stall speed and its maximum safe speed (Mach limit) shrank to razor-thin margins—often just 5 knots
 
Many a day I wish Fran was still around to regale us with his stories about flying the B-47 during his time in the service in the 1960's.
