If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Converting a CFS2 Ship to FSX

If I wanted to convert a ship from CFS 2 to a FSX AI ship, how would I go about it?

Which ship did you have in mind?

I've tinkered with this before. If you have Gmax and a few other programs it won't be too bad. The rest will come down to perms and how it will be used in the sim.

Willy..

Pull the mdl into MCX then export it as an FSX mdl. Find a similar models sim.cfg and edit it to reflect the CFS2 detail. You may have to edit some of the textures but many CFS2 models convert to FSX format really easy with the minimum of fuss:)

EDIT: Here's an example Willy. I saw this model (RMS Lancastria) only last week as it happens (here in the library) and thought it would make a good trooper.

Added a couple of effects and Bob's your uncle.
