Copilot is not showing or not matching

SOH-CM-2026
Hi all,

I noticed recently, my copilot isn't showing in the cockpit anymore...
In the DC-3 yesterday, I swear I could see it for 1/10th of a second when switching from external to internal cockpit view, but no way I can make it show anymore.
I tried setting the weight back to zero, then back to 150-170 in the EFB but no luck.
Happened with the DC-3, but also with some other planes, although I don't have them in mind.

This morning I made another try, this time with the default DA-40 and the default CTSL. I can get a copilot... but it's NEVER the one I defined in the settings, I'm rather getting a random character every time.
Anybody has a clue about what happens here ?

My selected co-pilot still showing up here. I checked a couple of the default planes as well as a couple of the native 2024 Carenados. So I would guess something you've just recently added, maybe a passenger mod?

Thanks for replying :)
I don't have any passenger mods installed right now, but I think you're right to suggest that some mod might be the origin of the problem anyways.
I'll try to clear up the community folder to see if the bug still happens.

Tonight I have tried to remove my Community folder.
It didn't solve the issue. I'm still getting a random copilot each time I set the weight in the EFB.
Set the weight to zero, and the passenger dissappears.
Set the weight to a value like 150, and a random passenger (different from the previous time) appears.
Weird...

That is strange. Just a few thoughts, if you haven't tried already:

If you go into "Customize Identity", and select "Co-pilot", does it show your selected co-pilot character standing there? If not, then I think that would mean that in fact you have "no co-pilot" selected in "Customize Identity".

If there is a selected co-pilot standing there in Customize Identity, what happens if you load one of the default 2024 aircraft, or one of the native 2024 Carenados, on the runway as "Ready to Fly"? As far as I know, if you have a co-pilot selected in Customize Identity, the planes will load ready to fly with the selected co-pilot beside you in the cockpit (you don't need to use the EFB to load a co-pilot or put weight in the co-pilot's seat).

If you haven't already tried, try choosing "No co-pilot" in Customize Identity, then do a quick flight with no co-pilot. Then go out of the sim, restart, choose a co-pilot in the Customize Identity, and then try doing a flight again and see if that somehow re-sets the sim.

Sorry, that's all I could think of. The sim does have a "Load Passengers" option, which I've never used myself, but I don't think it's automatic, or something you could inadvertently toggle on or off.

Will try that right now, thanks. The customize menu does show my selected copilot model correctly, but I haven't tried to disable+re-enable it yet.

Initial tests are not conclusive....
I mean, I have set the copilot to "no copilot", and yet I still get a random copilot each time I set some weight on the passenger seat...

And after setting the copilot to the asian woman model, here is what I get in the next flight:
- only one seat appearing in the EFB
- still a random passenger, not the copilot I had selected.
This is irritating...

Are you flying a FS2020 model ? I've noticed that the copilot often changes or disappears when I'm using a 2020 aircraft in 2024.
Just a thought - as far as I know there's no work around for the issue, until the developer releases a native 2024 version.

Ah! Problem solved, I think: I don't think there is a problem. I had looked at a couple of default planes before, like the Cirrus SR-22t, which had loaded showing my selected co-pilot. But when I went back and tried some of the other default planes, which I had never bothered trying before, like the Icon A5, the JMB VL2, and the CLST, sure enough, they loaded without any co-pilot showing.

This is just like the recently released Falco (my current favourite GA), which also loads without any co-pilot showing. And, just like you are finding with the above-mentioned defaults, if I use the ELB to add a co-pilot to the Falco, I get this round robin of Asobo default passengers (if I want a co-pilot to show in the Falco, I just go through adding/removing weight until I get a co-pilot I like the look of).

I guess to get your selected co-pilot from Customize Identity to show, there has to be some lines of code added somewhere, which none of the above have. I just never noticed this before because, with so many great third party native 2024 planes available, I hardly use any of the default planes any more.

If I want to add weight to the co-pilot's seat on the Falco to balance out the plane, but without using the ELB, and so bringing up one of the default Asobo passengers, I use GotFriends freeware Legacy Weights and Balance Mod (I can't sing its praises enough):

You have to open a GotFriends account, but its no big deal. I haven't tried, but I assume it will also work with the above mentioned defaults.

I hope this helps.

I have a gotfriend account I think, so I'll take a look at that utility, thanks. At least I'm glad I'm not the only one with that bug.

In this case it's with default MSFS2024 planes.
I do have a few MSFS2020 addons in my community, but haven't checked them specifically yet...
Also, as I wrote earlier, I have tried with an empty community folder and the problem remains the same.
