DC Scenery - Pink Buildings

FAC257

SOH-CM-2025
I've been going back through all of my sceneries and checking them in 2024. Is anyone else seeing these two pink objects in DC, in front of the Capitol building?

I've checked to see whether Drezweicki's KDCA or Washington Landmarks has any effect or causes this, but apparently they don't. Whether they are installed or not, the pink objects are still there.

There does appear to be an LOD element to this. At a certain distance and angle a part of the building does show up.

After checking all of my airports, I've only found pink things in DC and one building at a MSMP add-on airport, West Palm Beach Airport KPBI.

It's not just you, Forest, as I have the exact same issue as well, and I have nothing but the world updates and city updates covering Washington DC.

There were some updates made to the US world and city updates, released a couple weeks ago with MSFS SU16, and I'd imagine it's related, having never had those issues in DC until now.

I don't have MSFS2020, and no add-ons for that area in MSFS2024 (SU2). So it's not related to SU16 for MSFS 2020. I see the same two pink textures on the U.S. Grant Memorial and the National Museum of the American Indian (roof only, facade is fine). I've never noticed it before because I never flew in the area before, so I can't say what caused it. There are some threads about it on the official MSFS-forum (search for "pink textures washington"). It is suggested there that the issues arose pre-SU1. One thread suggested the culprit was that under WU2, the MSFS2020 USA POI-entry was disabled. I enabled it, but looking at the map it did not seem to fix the issue. Au contraire, it seemed to crash the sim when I went to fly there. Which is possibly the reason why it is disabled, though it could also be that my regular settings are too high for the D.C.-area (couldn't be ar*ed to lower them). So YMMV.
