Does this sim EVER work???

I just spent 3 hours, trying to fly at least one aircraft; ANY aircraft. No matter which aircraft I choose, no matter what airport, whether a parking spot or a runway, NOTHING works. There's just the spinner thingie in the lower right hand corner. I even tried selecting a Challenge, but THEY don't work either. Crap. I bought the Blackbird Sim C-130, and would love to try flying it, but I guess I am not allowed to. Damn this is frustrating as hell. NC:mad:

Eventually it will work. In about four years, after which they'll change it again.

I'm very happy with 2020 right now.

You're not alone today. The only way I could load to a flight was to remove everything from my community folder. I discovered it because I was working on recovering from a CTD issue I had yesterday and making the mistake of launching in safe mode.
I'm wondering if MS is having server issues today...

I’ve been plagued with this since March.

I typed into Google,”Microsoft flight simulator 2024 just will not start any flight”

The top link it displayed sent me to the main forums at flightsimulator.com.

The title of it was: “Stuck after clicking fly now Microsoft flight simulator – 2024”

These were some of the suggestions

Don’t press fly now with your mouse use the keyboard commands using left control + Enter

Remove any mods you have in the community folder

Remove the last scenery, aircraft or repaint livery you have installed

Rename your community folder and let Microsoft flight simulator 2024 rebuild an empty one

Delete your rolling cache

Use the Microsoft flight simulator layout generator to update the layout, json for every file, both scenery and livery in your community folder

Before flight switch to the windowed mode

Turn off photo filter mode in the Nvidia app

Turn off photogrammetry

Zoom in and wait 30 seconds then set terrain LOD to 10 before you click fly now

Set off screen terrain pre-caching to low

One person said the fix for me was selecting a starting spot then zoom out to see the entire world then click the fly now button

I personally did it the opposite way, I spun the globe and zoom down into the Pacific Ocean until I couldn’t go down anymore work X 1 for me, but it has not worked since

Unplug all USB ports, except for your mouse and keyboard, however, they may be the problem too

Don’t plan a flight between 2 payware airports plan between default ones only

I’ve been off work for the last four days and I’ve only had 3 flights tried to fly at least 15 to 20 times

I’ve tried some of these suggestions and I appreciate folks trying to help, but some of these things are just too much trouble to fool with!

As my brother was always quoting a Star Trek episode, “don’t explain it to me just make it go!” Grrrrrrrr

🔥😡🔥
