Dutch airforce show @ Leeuwarden.

Well, our show almost started with a disaster when one of the wheel bearings of our car disintegrated on the highway, but that's a different story.. We did make it with a rental, just a few hours late!
Sadly a few cancellations for the weekend; the Battle of Britain Spitfire and Hurricane didn't make it, the Italian G-27J and the Spanish Patrulla Aguila didn't show up either for various reasons. The Red Arrows arrived with one sick pilot on Friday and only flew a short show on Saturday with a four-ship formation. The Royal Jordanian Falcons were also a pilot short and only flew with three aircraft. The weather was OK, not bad for September! Just a bit of rain on Saturday afternoon.

Thanks for the great pictures from my old hometown airbase show. I did spend many weekends there flying gliders when I was a student in the HBS.

Thanks again Ferry_v0

Nice pictures Ferry, thanks for sharing. Pity about the cancellations, especially that C-27J; used to enjoy the Italian display pilot in the G222, the Spartan display must be amazing!

But never mind the cancellations - 6 Hunters, I am soooo jealous.

I especially like that shot of the two lynx - it's a piece of modern art!
Anyone know what the dotted-line frame on the NH90's door and forward window is about?

More like a modern dance, but with two helicopters. Really amazing to see those pilots at work.

Cut along the dotted lines? Maybe there's det cord in there in case of an emergency..?

Not really Brad; I just point and shoot, and when I get home I throw away the really bad ones and enhance the good ones from the ones I have left. Out of 2,000 photos (Two days) I now have about 1,500 left and I've uploaded about 80 so far to my Photobucket and Facebook..

And if you have photos 5100x3400 pixels you can cut a lot away and still have something descent to show because these are only 800 pix wide.. ;)
