EMB-312 Embraer Tucano Released

There's also a big power difference. They both run the same base PT6A, but this one is rated for 740 shaft ponies, while the PC-21 is more than double that at 1600 (both per Wiki). Their weights are much closer, so obviously, the 21 will be more of a hot-rod - according to theory anyway.

I would say that the PC-21 scratches that itch. However, the steam gauges vs. glass cockpit makes it interesting. I might just bite.

John - For that reason (steam gauges), I will be purchasing it (and I'm a single engine turboprop aficionado). Top speed is lower than PC-21 by about 30 kts. and approach speed is lower (likely due to different wing design). I looked at the Wiki also and noted that the US / Afghan use of these aircraft was not mentioned (or I just blew through it). My impression is that this aircraft is more docile than the PC-21, but still has plenty of performance. (I will wait until it is on SimMarket or ORBX, which is not currently.)

Hi, mr Jay,
Just a info for you, the version launched for msfs is the Embraer T27 Tucano. It´s more a trainer, although it can take light weapons. The US/Afghan you mentioned above is the Embraer A-29´s. They have a more light attack approach. Both comes from the same airframe anyway :encouragement:

Afghan A29.

I'm not sure that they're the same airframe since the Super Tucano is about 5 feet longer and designed to support heavier weapons, but the Super Tucano does use virtually the same 1600 HP engine as the PC-21.

I think you are right the A29 Super Tucano is a different airframe but it is based on the EMB-312

When i said "airframe" i was trying to say the same "project". The same origin. Sorry my bad english :encouragement:
