Engine trouble

aeromed202

SOH-CM-2014
Anyone know what would cause a helicopter engine to loose power at max RPM? I throttle up and get smooth power until almost max then the sound drops with the power. Just one does it, the Alouette II. Worked fine at first but I don't remember doing anything to mess it up.:help:

Before you throttle up, try hitting Cnrl+F4, and check your torque gauge to make sure you are at full power before you lift off, sounds like your torque is not at full.

Also remember it takes a bit for some chopper to get full RPM swinging in the blades, put your throttle about 50 percent and let the blades build up some RPM

I don't think those are the problem. It's warmed up and full torque but here is something weird I just discovered-applying parking brakes (ctl-period) causes engine stuttering and the RPM gauge goes to zero. Very strange. Maybe I'll try another panel.

any chance there's something in the manual about special commands?

(since brakes aren't required they might have used it for an alternative)

Quite possible something in the manual but it worked fine when I first installed it. Its the FSHeli AlouetteII payware. I re-installed but no change. It is different in that the sounds for all the variations are aliased to the prototype model. Don't know if there is a connection.

Some helos have rotor brakes, perhaps this is the case.:kilroy:
I don't have that chopper so I just guessing.

Ok I can see that this may be designed for good realism but how is it that setting the parking brake causes the thing to leap skyward from the tarmac, or if in flight to go up and down like a yo-yo? There must be a crossed connection or mapping somewhere. Plus in VC the throttle controls move opposite to the mouse drag. Haven't tried another panel or air file yet but I'm trying anything here.
