ETO 1.02 not working, pls help

HI,

I installed MAW 1 1/2 months ago after installing a fresh copy of CFS3.1a and MAW has been working fine.
About a month ago i added a 3g aircraft to CFS3.1a to test it, that worked ok and still does as well as MAW.
Yesterday I installed ETO 1.2 by installing 1.0 first. I placed it on the same directory as MAW and CFS3.1a, I also changed the path in master eto st.bat and etoglswopper.bat to suite the new ETO install. I also typed in the dir. for ETO multiCFS3 in my documents.
After install was finished I zapped the BGL zapper.
I them started ETO 1.0 until it was running in era 1.
I then installed ETO 1.2 update in the same way.

The problem is when i start ETO 1.2 it runs ok then when i try to do a free flight to test it, it loads and the the screen goes black and terminates and goes back to my desktop.

So what have I done wrong, should i of installed CFS3.1a again from fresh?
I also am using "no cd" in CFS3.1a, oh and before installing ETO i removed the 3g aircraft from CFS3.1a

I hope someone can help and sorry if it is something stupidly simple that i haven't done right.

Had another go today and guess what it works!!!
The problem is ETO doesn't work in free flight only campaign or mission mode? Well there we we have it, I wish someone told me that! Now it working I think its really good so much better than the original one. So thanks to all those hard working people for improving it and making it happen. :friday:
 
Free flight

SRY TO SAY ETO RUNS PERFECT IN FREE FLIGHT.

WHEN YOU INSTALL THE 1.02 UPDATE YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE FLOW THE 1.0ETO IN ERA 1 THEN INSTALL THE 1.02.


PS IT PROBABLY A GOOD IDEA TO RUN YOUR BDP ZAPPER BEFORE INSTALLING THE 1.02 ASWELL. BEST OF LUCK DOS MAXIMUS:wave:
 
It sounds like you may have changed eras and the era that you are now in doesn't have the airfield that your original era has. Try freeflight again, but before you click the fly button change the airfield to another airfield.

If that doesn't do the trick delete your uisel.xml in your application data folder. It will regenerate a new one.

If that doesn't do it, I am sorry but it looks like you need a reinstall and make sure to make your changes to the batch files prior to starting the game.

rbp71854, thanks for your reply and yours maximus, I tried another airfield and it works in free flight mode now so combination of wrong era/airfield. I'm pleased it's now working as i like to test a/c in free flight mode.
Incidentally when i was in ETO 1.0 i started it up so the game was working, not flying just in menu screen. It seems to have done the trick for 1.02 install.
