ETO V1.2 Multiplayer Crash?

Hey,

Any one else have this happen to them?


When ever I go to multiplayer and try to host a server on ETO V1.2 my game crashes. The game will lock up and the music will continue to play, but I can't minimize or any thing.

The only way I can get it to stop is to hold the power button on my PC untill it shuts off.

Did i do something wrong? (Btw when I installed V1.2 I did what it said about going to Era 1 then quiting before installing)

are you able to host a regular cfs 3 game ?
get your cfs 3 running smooth first.....at
least that was my approach. Also you may try
running your eto " config tool " located in your eto folder with the " wrench " icon

It's happened to me on regular base when running the ETO beta and one or two times with the latest release. But in single player mode, after having given a lot of imput with my keyboard or joystick (toggling between the views and changing the viewpoint)

The only way to return to windows is indeed pulling out the plug (which is not that healthy for your PC if you do that on regular base)

I don't know how to fix it and it doesn't happen that much anymore

Yes, I can play regular CFS3 Just fine (useually)

Ill have to try to config see if it helps at all.


Im afraid to try ETO on line now, becasue i dont want to screw up my PC from unpluging every time it freezes >_<

Are you trying to host a mission or dogfight?

1. If a mission try a different one designed for MP. A mission will cause this problem if a facility in the mission has a goal assigned to it but no spawn. Any facility tagged with a goal percent must have a spawn added to it or it will crash you when you try to host it in MP.
2. If QC go to your application data folder and insure you have a folder for ETO in addition to CFS 3. Then inside the ETO folder try deleting the Uisel file.

I had this problem once and it was because I did not direct the installer to create a new apps folder and it was loading the new files in to my old CFS 3 folder.

If you do not have a new apps folder for ETO you will need to reinstall ETO using a fresh unaltered copy of CFS 3.
