Flight 19 "Gypsies"

Just a few snaps from the last flight between SPYU and SPQU. Picture before takeoff and the remaining were taken after landing at SPQU. Hehe, for most of this flight we were under foggy condition, hehe never saw anything but white until after we started down on approach, but then it cleared up and we could see the runway for a change.

Got some pics from last night's flight to La Paz (SLLP). I did find out that the DC-2 doesn't really like to cruise at 16,000+ feet. Like one of the guy's said, I think I saw a kite pass me.

Exciting flight into Cochabamba. We took the La Paz turnpike to avoid the granite. The L-10 has been a real trooper through the high altitudes. Somewhere the Lockheed rep is smiling.

Out of the Andes and into the Amazon jungle.

We got a bit of a late afternoon start to Rio and ended up with a night flight. Still a great flight all and all.

We've got to go fly some charters from Detroit to Alaska, but we'll be back in Rio soon after.

Fun flight into Montes Claros, Brazil. Smallish airport, for a bunch of 4-ingine prop liners, but we all made it in there ok.

Some kodaks of our flight to Barreiras (SNBR), Brazil. For some reason, Taco and Willy's planes leave very prominent contrails. I love the shot of Taco's DC-7 diving like an SBD as we approached Barreiras!

Deeper into the jungle to Carolina. It was a pleasure watching John bring in the mighty Strat without a hitch.

Last Leg

All hands safe at La Guardia. Was fun chasing Mr. Gann all over the the Americas.

Looks like we will be heading up to Alaska soon...
