• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Flightsim.to hacked?

SOH-CM-2024
Since yesterday, when I try to download a file I get a new popup screen. Downloads are now impossible. Is this a hack or the lastest attempt to force a premium account?

It's their ongoing attempt for people to either accept their adds and cookies or switch over to a premium account.

Hi Priller,

I attepted their ads but this does not make any difference. I use no add blocker for the site but the problem remains. What now?

That is very strange. Like you, I'm a Dutch speaker. You're from the Netherlands. I'm from Belgium. I have no issues whatsoever and I do use an add blocker.

What browser and security are you using?

Priller

Try another browser like Edge or Firefox and see what gives.

I've just downloaded quite a few things from flightsim.to without issues.

Before trying that, give this a try: open the command prompt with elevated rights, i.e. type CMD in the search field of the task bar, when the command prompt is shown, click on "run as administrator".

In the command prompt type ipconfig /flushdns and hit enter

Reboot your machine and try again with different browsers.

Problem found and solved, it was Malwarebyte safe browsing.
This is why I rely on Windows Defender and Ghostery ad blocker, then watch where I click. All these third party packages do is slow down your 'puter and screw up your life with false positives.

Windows Defender plus Ghostery and uBlock Origin on MS Edge works for me - you can easily "whitelist" the sites you visit regularly on either one (sometimes both) and it's well worth it for the peace of mind, plus:
I use MS Edge for the MS Rewards I get just for using it - the points can be exchanged for MS or Xbox credits, both of which I can spend in MSFS Marketplace. You can't beat getting FREE STUFF just for using a web browser!
