Flying the Line

No sign of the guy with the hangover, but we flew on to Lake Charles for a crawfish boil. He'll catch up sooner or later.

On the way to Shreveport. Blue skies but with a lot of turbulence.

Nice flight to Dallas. The more I fly the C-46, the better I like it.

We left Hot Springs and headed northeast to my neck of the woods in Gibson Co TN. Great flight and I tested out a "new" gauge set doing it.

Pretty good flight to Atlanta (KFFC), but when I was working on setting up my approach, apparently the lights for most of my gauges decided that they were made by Lucas....

I've included a pic what they're supposed to look like. Think I know what the issue is but it's going to take a bit to fix it.

Taco and I flew on over the Smokies to Roanoke VA. Nice flight even going through a storm front and with the DC-2 otto not holding altitude which kept things interesting flying through clouds over the mountains. Fortunately Piedmont is letting me use their hangar while I cobble something together to replace the Sperry otto...

:biggrin-new: Hey there!

Here are some snaps from last nights flight, and a line up of all of the Flight 19 on a perivous flight.

Got the Sperry replaced by a prototype one from a well known English company that specializes in electrical/electronic devices. What could go wrong?

A couple of shots taken during pre-flight last night. We headed on up to Martinsburg and had a good time.

The FS9 Uiver Team DC-2 is really quite good and a bargain for the price. While it's a little slower than the FS DC-3s I have, I still prefer it to a DC-3. Trying to keep up with the others without blowing an engine (yes, it can) can be quite interesting.

If nothing else it was an interesting flight. I was trying out a new otto and got to noticing a red light on the panel. Engine Fire in #1. Got lucky and when I throttled back, the fire went out. When you push the DC-2 too hard, bad things happen.

About a minute out from Eire, FS decided it was time to become a slide show and I ended up smashing into the runway.

And the new otto? It works fine in the C-46. In the DC-2, not so much. Going back to the Lucas otto there.
