FS-2002 Question

Hey guys!

I'm usually in the Combat Flight Simulator 2 section of the forum; I decided to come up out of the basement and get some fresh air...

Anyway, I've been trying with fervor to get Fraps to record video on FS-2002, but the videos are always choppy, as framerates fall through the floor everytime I start it! I've turned all the graphics down, and all that good stuff, and the shadows and all that... but it still gives me poor results.

Any ideas? :wiggle:

Spinner Boy comes to the Dark Side! This is going to be FUNNNNNNNN!

Try shutting down unneeded things running in the back ground while filming. Antivirus (make sure you are disconnected from the internet), antispyware, antipasta..anything that runs in the background that is not needed to run Winders...all those things use RAM and processor power. Defrag and optimize your HD for faster read times.

are you running Windows Vista?
If so, FS2002 is hopeless - pitch it out the window... FS2004 will give you better frame-rates in Windows Vista, primarily because it suffers drastically fewer bugs in Vista...
Otherwise, I might mess around with the program priorities... set FS2002 to operate at "high" priority and leave FRAPS at normal priorty - FRAPS should still work fine and more system resources will be devoted to FS2002...
Finally, you might need more RAM to store all that video data...

Obie...Obie...sigh...

Anyway, I am running XP... and how do you set program priorities?

1st time i heard someone call Fs9 the dark side lol. Thank you strikehawk for that link. Might help me clear up some ram issues and make my fs9 run better. Weird although to say the least as my FSX is running better then Fs9. Thats not going to fly with me as i like both sims soaring on equal level. Have to break out the Fs9 bat and whack FSX back in its place.
