A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category FS 2004 Scenery

Description: From 1950 to 1967 the USAF set up and maintained bases in France, with the agreement of the French government, as part of its commitment to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Laon AB was one of the ten main air bases which supported both attack and air defense capabilities. Many people do not appreciate the sheer extent of the USAF bases in France at this time and the reasons leading to the USAF departure in 1967. There is a link to a fine article on all this included.


This is the second in a series of USAFE bases in France, the first being LFJA Chaumont AB. This scenery and traffic represent Laon Air Base during the years 1955 to 1962. Custom Tower and Hangars by Dan French with Custom aircraft paints by Ken Lawson and DeltaDart. Traffic files and the aircraft and paints needed are provided for 1955 (including the Black Knights B-57 Demonstration Team), 1957, 1959 and 1962. By Al Von Pingel, Ken Lawson, Dan French.

Also, available here at SOH to go with this scenery is Mick's repaints of the 38th BW for the Freeware Alphasim version of the B-57 that can be used to fly along with AI B-57s of John Young used in this scenery. Instructions included in the Installation Guide.

Update to LFQX Laon Air Base scenery

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category FS 2004 Scenery

Description: This update effects users who installed the LFQX Laon Scenery. The GCA Units Library contained within the LFQX Laon Scenery was missing a couple of textures added at the last minute before the release. Download and install this Object library replacing the previous which will provide the missing two textures.

For those of you who didn't download the LFQX Laon or the LFJA Chaumont sceneries but would like GCA units to put in your own sceneries, this download contains GCA trailers by Dan French in several configurations and colors. This Library has not been previously available separately.
