FS2004 Screenshots Here!!!

Thought i'd try a 1960 version of RAF Lyneham, but starting with the traffic first, using JBK's Britannia, Comet and Hastings and seeing how many i can include before the frames drop, and then build up the rest of the airfield accordingly. keep you posted :)

Where a bit spoilt for Corsair's, but i do like the new AW F4U-4 by Andrew Wai just released for CFS2, just need to add manufacturer to the cfg, otherwise it works just fine, im esp interested in Korean war scheme's which are a bit thin on the ground which is why i like this one, cheers Andrew :encouragement:

This particular paint is meant to represent the aircraft of Lt (jg) Jesse L. Brown (October 13, 1926 – December 4, 1950), VF-32, USS Leyte, (CV-32).

Though the movie ("Devotion") was made to represent his military life just before and during Korea, I think it did also did a good job of capturing the essence of USN carrier ops during Korea as a whole.

At least from what I've read, anyway.

Not "Bridges at Toko Ri" by any means, but still recommendable.

(If the gentleman playing Lt (jg) Hudner seems familiar as an aviator, it's because this was the second time he plays a Naval Aviator. The first was as "Hangman" in "Top Gun: Maverick" just prior to filming "Devotion".)

Something new and, yet, old. :wiggle:

CVN70Maui.jpg

Landing aboard the USS Carl Vinson, southwest of Maui.. in FS2002. :loyal:

I wound up doing bulk installs of the main texture folders (FS2002 and FS9) in the new rig from this rig. I had both of them already tweaked to my liking and this saved me a bunch of time trying to remember which texture sets I used and which textures I may have modified. :dizzy:
Check out that snazzy STOCK carrier scenery. :p The plane is also a throw-back. Dean Reimer's FS2002 Hornet which I relabeled as an A model.
I'm tempted to start swapping-out some gauges with the newer Hornet but I'll probably just switch out the HUD and call it good.
For whatever reason, FS2002 is behaving better on the new rig than FS9. I need to re-check some compatibility settings.
Also, that water should be a lot more glossy. That may a setting difference or a difference between AMD and NVIDIA GPUs or Win10 and Win11.

Speaking of water, if you're doing a re-install of FS the FIRST thing you have to do is upgrade the water textures. I was doing some test flights in both sims and kept noticing my FPS drop from 60 to 25-30 between the cloud textures and the water, THAT is a must-do upgrade.

Good morning Sbob,
here a screenshot from take off from Bückeburg Helicopter airbase in germany.
I took this screeny with FSrealWXlite on.
It runs well on my old Windows XP rig with FS2004.
But some times I have to restart it two or threetimes before it shows the real local weather.
When flying at my home in Brittany, the weather showed by FSrealWXlite is not far away from what I have realy outdoors.
Concerning another post from you -FSREPAINT -the only good soft to make repaints I know.
As I am not a repaint artist, you or some one else would not be interested to make some german repaints of Willy vervaeckes H-34?

Best regards

Michael

Michael, :ernaehrung004:

I'm pretty sure FSRealWx (for FS9) won't work with FS2002. All the programs are talking now, but FS2002 will show weather update screens but WON'T change any weather variables (clouds, winds, baro, temps). The author kind-of says the FS9 version should work with FS2002 but I don't think it will. I tried downloading "real weather lite" but the site it was on looked really sketchy/abandoned. I have a bunch of saved weather files for FS2002 (which I can't upload, Jeppesen has lawyers it seems) so it isn't the end of the world.

Now comes the hard part. :wiggle: I'm done setting up the "core files" for both sims in Win11, now I just have to figure out what those worlds will look like this time around. Adding aircraft and scenery will be easy but I'm waiting for this Winter so I'll have something to do.
