FSX PMDG DC-6 to be released today...

30165461nl.jpg

Its WIP N620NA of Nord Aviation. It is a current one...

TIAR I see the issue now, X-Plane uses the open source, aka GIMP type .png file formating for textures. So one would need to convert these .png files into DDS format to work in MS, that strikes me as being a serious bit of work and one has to say not worth the effort, easier to start from scratch with the paint kit.

no its actually very easy to use png to dds

import the png into your paint program and then save is as a .psd then use your nvida tools to convert it to dds

the actually alpha shine is in the spec mapping,

The Norwegian airline Braathens SAFE operated several DC-6. I have made a livery of the DC-6B LN-SUB (1960 - 1969).

Trying to do a VC-118B - it nearly works with DC-6A model... But you will only have textured windows.

WIP Airforce One USAF 53-3240, J. F. Kennedy´s VC-118, 1962. More infos soon.

It is nearly impossible to find pictures of the real bird from 1960 to 1964. If you have one or a link - would be a great help.

Air Force One repaint of Kennedy´s VC118A is already uploaded and will be available soon.

30508773cy.jpg

This repaint shows Air Force One VC-118A 53–3240 in the year 1962. This Liftmaster with c/n 44611 was built as a VIP transport and delivered to the 1254th Air Transport Wing at Washington International Airport on December 23, 1955. In July 1961 the 1254th ATW along with 53–3240 were relocated to Andrews AFB. The aircraft soon became President John F Kennedy’s favorite plane to transport him to the short landing strip at Hyannisport, Massachusetts or smaller Airfields. Later in 1962 this VC-118A got the famous turquise/blue livery, which was designed by Jackie Kennedy (for the SAM 62-6000, a VC-137C). President Lyndon Johnson occasionally used this aircraft, too. After the presidental flight-time, aircraft was shortly used as VIP transport for USAF again with white/grey scheme. On 18-6-1975, the 3240 was transferred to the Military Aircraft Storage and Disposal Center (MASDC) with inventory number CG073. Today, this aircraft is on display at the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson Arizona painted in the scheme Jackie Kennedy had designed.
And yes, I am currently working on the famous turquise/blue presidental flight scheme. WIP shot coming soon.
