Gas Prices Part 2 (Nov 08)

$1.95 here. I saw a station in Hollywood selling regular for $2.34

I just filled up again today - $1.599 at one of the not-as-cheap stations. It cost me $3.73 to fill up after running better than 100 miles!:costumes:

Gas was $1.45 a gallon 2 days ago and went up to $1.78.9 last night here in Central Michigan. Did OPEC cut production back again??

Ben

Price can go down if production remains as is. But if production drops, be assured the price will go back up. There was talk of lowering production and supposedly it was to be voted on yesterday. Only caught part of that on the radio on my way home from the museum, so I don't know what happened.

Just when I thought the prices might have leveled out, WaWa dropped to 1.499 for regular and 1.859 for Premium.

I also saw that the 7 11 around the other corner has stopped selling gas altogether. Plus a couple of other gas stations have closed completely. Too much competition I guess.

I have seen some gas stations still selling at $2.40+ a gallon for regular while most are selling for $1.50 around here. Usually a small independent. They got stuck with expensive gas left in the underground tanks. They don't want to sell it at a loss, and customers don't want to pay the high prices. So there it sits underground... I guess they hope that they can sell snacks to stay in business until the price goes up?

Losing Money ?
You mean they're not showing the " BILLIONS " of dollars profit for the quarter they ripped us all out of ?
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all the oil companies !!

HO HO HO
OTTO :ernae:

Now at $1.35 here. Keep going DOWN please.

Here's a thought: for those companies whose employees use their personal vehicles and get mileage allowances around $0.35-$0.40/mile, when do you think they're going to start reducing it because gas is "cheap"?

Somebody shoot that idiot. We don't live in Europe. We don't control their gas prices either, so stop comparing our gas prices to theirs. And we're taxed to death, we don't need higher gas taxes.

The only thing I wish would be done is raise that stupid .009 up .001 and make the prices even. For an example, no more $1.449/gallon, make it $1.50. There's beaucoup dollars right there for taxes... that's enough of a raise IMO.
