Glacier Bay Ver.2

Did some sightseeing around Skagway and Juneau this evening. This is Holger Sandman's freeware phenom "Glacier Bay" version2. Amazing detail and eye candy galore. I saw two parasailers gliding on the wind currents above Juneau Bay. . .very cool.

Holger's contribution to FS is tremendous. GB v.2 is one of my favorite places to fly. As good and in some ways better than FSX (with add on Alaska mesh) in this neck of the woods. Also had the PAD Turbo Beaver out last evening doing a few tweeks on it. Newer PAD Turbo Otter is worth checking out too . .

Holger has a real talent for making Glacier Bay as real as it gets--love the meandering river deltas in particular. And you can't do much better than the PAD Turbo Beaver to explore this area.

Here are some peculiar finds in an otherwise outstanding freeware scenery package:

A glacier-cruising ship (above sea level)...

Waterborne trees and lighthouse...

adhockey,

same coords in GB ver2
I don't have the peculiar glacier-cruising ship or the waterborne trees/lighthouse. Maybe your setup (sceneries etc) has a glitch. (??)

Whenever a discussion on freeware scenery comes up, I always mention Glacier Bay. I simply cannot emphasize it enough.

Could be the Alaska Lighthouses package I installed many moons ago, and maybe someone's AK ship traffic I added (though the glacier freighter doesn't move... perhaps appropriately). Thanks for the verif.

For the record: Skagway is my favorite destination in GB.

James, that is I think Eugene Heyart's DHC piston (PLZ?) Otter in the Northern colors. Very nice aircraft for bush flying.

Sure is...and is one of my favorite aircraft for flying in this area. I have however, considered purchasing Lionheart's Kodiak. Looks like a good plane for this area as well.

So Glacier Bay can be used with UT USA with some adjustment
Bob

I cannot recall specifically, but the directions are in the readme.

James

When you run the Glacier Bay Configurator, there is a box there for UT Canada \ Alaska. If you have it, check it, and it will automatically set it up the right way.

That sounds right, I don't have UT, so I haven't paid much attention to that box, I only knew that it was for another add-on.

Glacier Bay's a great addon, also Misty Fjords and Tongass , all combined together make a great scenery addition to Fs9.
