• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

Nice VC upgrade, Roger. It is a pity that the interior texture takes so little place :( Otherwise, I would create all the shading, etc.

Give these polished walnut images a try...they are not copyrighted! Took a picture of a walnut piano and cropped out a couple areas of nice wood.

Also came across this free ware wood texture creater. Haven't really worked with it much yet, but it looks interesting.

I'm currently working on a RAAF and a RAF version. The RAF version is done after the old FROG kit and the RAAF version after the above profile.

OK: Evidently no one is going to tell me how stupid my question was about the panel with no photo. I appreciate it. In a lot of forums I would have been in for a hard time. I realize I was asking a question about the Cirrus (the version I fly). I looked at the gypsy and see there is no photo.

Truth is I hadn't noticed and I don't know:costumes:
 
used martin wright's dxt.bmp to look at the textures, the photo is on the 'moth maps.bmp'
file, so I'm guessing its' use is hard coded into the model texture mapping.

why not e-mail the author and ask for a modified version?

Thanks to several members of this forum, I was able to take my newly painted cirrus powered moth for a test flight late this afternoon.

This is a neat little bird.

Someone ages ago, gave me over 100 built models and the Frog Moth is sat on my mantlepiece at home - along with a T-6 of course!!

This is a wonderful aeroplane - been trying her out over the last few days and am so pleased with it. Having a little spot of bother when lining up to land and then touching down 10 yards to the side of the runway....but I'll get there. May need to do more of a wider final approach.

But its a delight to fly....will have to somehow track down a real one to try....my open cockpit flying has only been in Stearmans, Tiger Moth, Jungmann, Stampe, Pietenpol and Phoenix Duet. The DH60 would I think take pride of place on my list.

I Like this plane. Along with the Stearman. They are my favorite older planes beats the piper cub.

And also - thanks for pointing out the Aussie paints, pointy31. Huub - I remember the Frog kit, still have one built up in RAAF markings (they are scarce these days!) Very nice crisp kit for the period. I think when relesed it was to be built as G-AAAH with a spare prop fixed to the side below the cockpit, and had a nice standing pilot figure too.
