Handley Page Halifax Mk I/II for Fs9

Shessi

SOH-CM-2025
Hi Folks,
This is the next one..an early Halibag MkI and MkII.

I realised I've been working on and off with this since 2014!!

A lot of these projects are getting to the finishing stages....which is good.

Initially there will be a MkI, which in reality is a MkII without a top turret and with some side guns, a MkII as seen in the pics. And a Coastal Command GRII...and maybe other Mks??

I've done some different bomb loads. I've made exact copies of the incendiary bomb bundles, which I don't think's been done before.

Anyway, as said before, no time frame, still lots to do.

Cheers

Geezz Shessi --

I was barely getting the ol' MkI Sundy broke in and now you tease me with a new "Halibag".... I have the older ALPHA model but your version looks tantalizing, mate. BTW, pretty sure the ALPHA model is a radial engine version. I'd post a screenie but I don't have permission to do so here for some oddball reason. :dizzy: Keep me in the loop, sir! :encouragement:

Thanks so much, for keeping FS2004 alive, fresh & exciting.
There are actually a lot of us that still fly FS2004, with various mods, such as Golden Wings, Ford Tri-Motor Project & others. It just works on 'normal' & older PC's, & we have unique stuff that is just not available for newer sims.

Mark,

This looks like an outstanding upgrade; thanks for all of your hard work on this! :applause:

Mark,

Luv to see this in CFS 2.:redfire:

Couple of (subjective) observations:

mid-upper turret looks like it sits too high, or is too small a diameter (I'm thinking about the turret on Pstranys Hudson as a comparison).

Maybe because of this, although the fin shape looks OK, they just seem a tad too large still (in the screengrab views) for a MkI series 2 (or is that MkII series 1?).

Hope we might see a mkII series 1 (special)? For all those "Secret Army" missions. (Only the older Brits here might get this reference), or a MkII series 1A (think MkIII with Merlin engines)

John,
Yes, of course it will also be done for CFS23, I've also done a very low poly AI Halifax MkII, for use in CFS2.

Thanks for the coments, good to have thoughts/feedback. Well if you take a look at the pics below you'll see the turret does sit high, and it's not a huge turret either, but I'll take another look.

There were 3 different fins on the MI/II Halifax, and were quite large (big AC!!), again I'll take a look.

And yes, there will be other Mk variants.

The MkI (no upper turret, with side guns), and a MkII Series I will be first. Very confusing all the different Mk's and then series?!

Cheers
