• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

HE-100 Recommendation

The mail was visible in the original post by acwai1 but was removed by either himself or an admin. Which is the prudent thing to do. Even though I wear glasses, I did see it. And I'm glad I made the remark, because it has been removed.

Hi Ed,
Thank you for your fine updates to Gerald's Heinkel.
I appreciate your willingness to put some time and
effort into these older birds.

Best Regards,
John

My thanks to Michael Pook for his recent work to try to clear up more of the black areas in the VC. By adjusting the "interior3" texture he was able to get the floor and sides to look much better. I then went into MDLMat last evening to "fix" the remaining side areas that were black by picking a color from the side textures and changing the LOD 01 and LOD 02 materials to that color. There were only 2 materials that were solid black so it was easy to spot the ones I needed to change. If you are fluent in MDLMat, the color to change those to is (51,49,49,255). The only drawback, and I didn't see it as such, is that it also changes the prop to that color as well. I see it as very minor given how far the model has come since I started working on it. The pics below will bear that out.

Hello Ed, I wondered about that. I thought I was missing a bmp somehow. Thank you for the detailed explanation of working with these textures.
I thought differing LOD was only necessary on an object's external textures for rendering at a distance. I am beginning to work with texturing but
have a long way to go to get to this level. Would you consider uploading the adjusted bitmap? Thanks.
