I am back in action

Progress report:

I have done sets (for F6F-5s, TBFs and SB2Cs) for the central Philippines and I am now working on air attacks in the Manila area (13 SEP 44). I want to use Kdriver's Manila scenery, but each time I install it in my game, the Mission Builder "fails to initialize." :banghead: I have tried it in several installs with the same result. Sorry, I will probably use my own layout for the city facilities and harbor.

Hi Greg,

I suggest having a separate Mission Builder install with only the aircraft and ships you are using in your missions, as well as a cut down number of DPs in the OBJECTS_DP folder. DPs for weapons and objects not in use can be removed.
Mission Builder is a temperamental beast.

Cheers,
Kevin

Yes Kevin, she is that. I have quite a few objects in the folder... I had thought to go through them and drop the ones I don't need. My only problem is in choosing which ones to eliminate, what with your, UT's and MR's scenery packs loaded. I think what you are suggesting is work those mission in a separate install without the other packs and their objectsdp requirements, just to get the missions done. Then I can place them into the campaign install. Do you think that will work?

Cheers
Greg

Greg, yes that should work. I have about 1800 DPs in both my PTO and ETO MB installs and the program works OK. The main installations have double that number and there is no hope of MB working from them.

Getting rid of the weapon DPs saves a lot of space. MR/LW's objects are used extensively in the Philippines. I used UT's fuel storage tanks and boat ramp for Manila. You will need quite a few of the Pearl Harbor objects as well.

If you go through the Manila layouts, you will see which objects you need.

Good luck and save your work often!

I got it working after deleting about 100 unused objects. And I do save often.
I finished my fighter sweep over Manila , and next the harbor and airbase raid missions are in line. Mid - late September 1944 is where we're located now. :running:
