So I did did a "blue" Fokker D.VII using Stuart's masterpiece. Thanks to Mike Wilson and Huub Vink for their paints that gave me a clue on certain alignments, which I have no clue to! :isadizzy:

This OAW-built D.VII (I know the cowl panels should be different) was flown by Ltn. Hans Jungwirth of Jasta 78b. I haven't worked up a package yet, but shall tomorrow after I return from an early morning dentist visit.

Now that's a pretty one! As usual waiting for the paint to dry. :ernae:

Happy birthday!

You're a blue Fokker? I always though there was something weird about you :costumes: :costumes: :costumes:.

Enjoy your birthday mate and thanks for your company and all the things we share!

:birthday2 :birthday2 :birthday2 <== Ouch, that will need a few miles, to get rid of again :d

I'm not crazy! I'm an aeroplane!:isadizzy:

Hey Mr Blue Fokker any news?

Cazzie,

Do you have any reference for the mauve on the nose? On most profiles it is quite dark and when I look at the attached picture I think they might be right....

Cheers,
Huub

Not a bit Huub. Most OAW D.VIIs were factory painted Dark Olive with Mauve hexagons. I still need to play with the Jasta 78b front colors, they appear black and gray or aluminum like your b & w.

I have been working all morning and finally have the upper wing about there on the lozenge according to the anthology. I have to work a little on the ailerons.

Caz,

The D-VIIs on the B&W picture should be brand new AOW built aircrafts readly to leave the factory. So the "colours" that you see should be olive green and mauve......

I really like the "hand painted" effect on the butterfly and double bands!

Huub

Gee Caz, I didn't know it was your birthday... hope you have a good one.

Nice paint on Stuart's Fokker D.VII, BTW.
