I'm sneaky!

impressive......but all ya got to do is ask him for a print out since its digital now...your medical records belong to YOU not the dr...even if they would like you to believe otherwise...i had a federal judge read a dr the riot act and it even embarrassed me as he did it...over the realise of my medical records and xrays,,,the judge even threatened the doctor, nurse and two medical records department staff with jail time if they didnt hand it over in full in 4 hours of his decision...most doctors offices and medical staff will tell you things like 25 cents per page ect..or that you cant have access at all...BUT its YOURs,,,its his (the doctors) to keep in file, and in cofidence, but the records belong to the person...the insurance ,HMO,and in some cases,,people like me have to pay out of pocket,,,so it means the paperwork of your personal records of YOUR health belong to YOU,same with the imaging centers,,,they will charge you for "copies" of the original xray...and some doctors claim that they own the original ( as they claim they paid for it)...but the law says the pacient owns the original,,easy way to get it is to have your doctor have the image center have you "hand carry"back to the drs office,,,then you just keep the xray and take it with you when ever a dr needs to see it or the paperwork assosaited to it,once auburn imaging which is a remote center to a lager group, called me on it..said i needed to return the xrays..i told the woman to have the group managment attorny call me....he did and i told him what the federal judge told me and he just hung up on me and i never heard another word

damn ive done it again.....ramble....but awesome hardware,,,i have L2-S1 fused...these xrays show 4 broken screws..i know two more have broken....all four fusions have since failed...these were done in july 04 i belive.....(geeeees its Jan 2002)

Wow, that sucks Dave!

The issue wasn't with the doctor - he shows them to me every time I get new ones. I've just tried to get a disc for my personal records but the people in the department say they only give them under certain circumstances - ETS, PCS, Retire or seeing a doctor off post. Else they won't do it - since I'm none of the above, yet, I just have to wait. :)

well my point to that whole ramble.( i hate when i do that) is...ask your doctor for it,im guessing its on his laptop? where you snuck your shots?..take a USB flash drive with you,,and just ask him.."doc? mind copying those on to my drive?"...he knows the law...he will do it...the others are trained by the parent company to charge for it,and they will fight you to the end...thats why i got my friends in law enforcement involved in my case....i was at a party and was drinking brandy with 3 judges ( 2 suprior judges, and a federal court judge)and half a dozen lawyers and public defender types..they were all there,,even the local county sheriff was sittin near me listening to my problems,,,the one judge gave me a busniess card and number to call.....i was talking to a federal attorney about what drs can and cant do and what thier responcibilities are,,he said 95% have no clue...my persaonel case had mostly to do with social security/medicare/medical and how the doctors and medical billers like to play games...

The hospital uses some sort of software program to view the xrays - so even if I did that, I couldn't view them on my computer without the program - I checked, they were some crazy format. lol

Yep, Cybr belongs to Uncle Sam...from his swollen big toe to his shiny shaved scalp. When you are in the military, a lot of the laws and rights no longer apply to you...even though you are prepared to kill or be killed in the defense or establishment of those same rights for others. Seems a bit odd to me, but that's the way it's been for many a decade now.

So Cyber....how's the ankle doing in terms of mobility and function?

OBIO

oh................well chit....i thought he had been discharged and was back in the world of the masses....no wonder i didnt understand those innitials

So far so good, I think. :)

I'm off crutches now, but still in the walking boot. Mobility and function-wise, it still needs improvement. I can almost get it neutral, about 5 degrees shy of neutral. Flexation I'm at about 40% still. Improving the left/right twisting motion, but the flex is still hard to get.

Yeah, I get a lot of strange looks with surprise in their voice when I say I'm trying to stay in. :)

I actually got to fill out my wishlist for a new duty station the other day as they're now sending me to a regular unit to finish recovery. I chose, in this order, Carson, Lewis and Drum. Fingers crossed for Carson. :D

Fort Drum is where my nephew was stationed. I can't remember what brigade he was with, I know it was the same Division as you are in...10th Mountain....I think that's right. I'll have to call him this weekend and ask him the details.....I can't remember...getting old ya know.

One thing he said about Fort Drum....IT' COLD! And there's nothing to do but be cold.

OBIO

Yeah, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Brigades are up at Drum, 4th is where I was at Polk.

Honestly, I don't mind cold - I much prefer it to this ridiculous heat and humidity of Texas/Louisiana. lol

You can always put more on to stay warm but only take so much off to stay cool. :D

familar

Those xrays look familar got mine catupalting off a 10 ext ladder cleaning gutters, trying to clean that last 2 ft w/o moving the ladder. Stupid is as stupid does, cost me a year of real world flying, broke the tibia in 2 places and shattered the ankle left leg is now shorter than the rt. Oh well learn as we live, hope you have a speedier recovery than I did, secret is lots of PT

I'd much rather be hot. Wear shorts and t-shirt and keep the cold fluids flowing to keep the core cool and replenish what sweats out. I ride year-round, and I'll be the first to tell you that that no matter how many layers you have on, 17°F is cold when you're going 65MPH!

I recently went to an ortho for my back, and before he looked at the x-rays, I told him that he'd be able to see my kidneys. You know something's not quite right when the doc looks at an x-ray and says "WOW!" By the way, that doc was nice enough to burn me a CD with the images.

Glad to hear you are getting better, and congrats on wanting to stay in. Why give up something you obviously enjoy doing? Good on ya! I agree with Tom, the cold is for the snow birds :icon_lol:

BTW- is that a pic of the hardware section at Lowe's? :bump:

Depending upon who their driver is, they might think it was from Home Depot. ;) :D

Thanks everyone! :)
