I'm as comfortable as can be in the left seat of a jet doing .84 mach at 41,000 feet. Those pics, though, gave me a slight case of vertigo. Wow.
 
Yeeeeaaaaahhhhhh....

I've flown ultralights where its just a seat out in the open air.
Flown in helicopters with no doors and my head poking out.
No way you could get me to crawl up something like that to take a picture. :icon_lol:
 
I didn't want to even look, but I did. I am afraid we will see an article one day about one of those young people falling to their deaths.
 
A fear of heights/vertigo is pretty common among pilot's..hence why many would baulk at doing a parachute jump "from a perfectly serviceable aircraft" :icon_lol:.

I'd be more concerned about dropping my camera equipment,however!:icon_lol::icon_lol::icon29:

Make mine an F-18C (In Flight Sim... of course). You'd NEVER get me to do that without multiple safety straps, harnesses and cords... and one heck of a safety net at the bottom. Geezz...:icon_eek:

Already has happened.

There is a fail compilation video on Youtube one part is a Russian base jumper on a tower. He jumps and deploys his chute but it never fully opens. He smacks into the ground as his friends look on in shock. One of the commentators on the video stated the guy died two days later.

Extreme sports go ahead its your life but its not for me.

I get hurt just riding my bike... :icon_lol:
 
Did y'all see this video made by Alexander? I must say that there are some very strange structures in Russia that simply don't make any sense at all... :mix-smi:
 
the guys in the video in Ed's second link..bottom of the page,pretty stupid things to do in my mind,but i have to hand it to them for their body strength ,not alot of people can do the pushups using just your arms,have your body straight out,,above the floor,feet NOT touching the floor,your body parallel to floor in a horizontal position. very difficult to do in the gym or on you livingroom floor,,but to do it a 1000' in the air?on a 2 inch wide beam? with no other support or any safety equipment?......wow just wow

Going up wouldn't be a problem for me, it's the getting down part that would cause me to nest where I came to rest.
 
Awesome! i'd do it with climbing equipment.... some great images...

oh and to clarify a fear of heights IS NOT vertigo, a fear of heights is Acrophobia (from the Greek words 'Akron' meaning Peak, summit or Edge and 'Phobos' meaning Fear), Vertigo is the dizziness usually triggered by an Aural problem, making that person experience motion despite being still... you can get Vertigo when ill for example, it's that instability on your feet and somewhat loss of balance....

You'd probabely never give it much thought but it happend to my brother 7 years ago. He was riding his bike. Just an ordinairy more or less old bike. He heard a sound coming from the frontwheel and notiched maybe something wrong with the fender. He bended over forward to touch the fender, see what was wrong. The fender came loose and blocked the frontwheel instantly. My brother was 'launced' from the bike and because of his bended forward position probabely landed on his head. Incomplete transverse lesion. Wheelchair for him ever since...

Some people have all the luck, others don't...
