From late December 1941 to May 1942 Jagdgeschwader 53 participated in the German assault against Malta. In this campaign you will fly the Bf-109F-4 from bases in Sicily on bomber escort and fighter sweep missions. In between you will have to cover convoys running supplies to Africa, and there are also a few fighter bomber sorties against airfields on Malta. Your main opponents will be Hawker Hurricanes and in the later stage of the campaign also Spitfires.

26 missions flying Bf-109F-4s from bases in Sicily over Malta in early 1942. Most are bomber escort and fighter sweep missions, with some missions covering convoys to Africa and also some fighter bomber sorties against airfields on Malta in between. Your opponents are mostly Hawker Hurricanes and, in the later stages of the campaign, also Spitfires. The campaign ends in May 1942, when most german units participating in the campaign were withdrawn from sicily and sent to other theaters.
This is the first part of what is planned to become a series of campaigns covering JG53´s time in the Mediterranean until mid 1944.
